Ruth Parmelee was an American medical missionary in Turkish Armenia during World War I.
This booklet is her recollection of that period, especially of the genocide of Armenians and various efforts by foreigners to save victims. It is a modest commentary which complements her earlier accounts from World War I. Her testimony joins other eyewitnesses reports on the Armenian Genocide in the Harpoot (Kharpert) region, such as those of Henry Riggs, Mary Riggs, Ernest Riggs, Tacy Atkinson, Maria Jacobsen, Isabelle Harley and Leslie Davis.
