Gérard Chaliand is an internationally acclaimed specialist on strategy. He has been a participant-observer of guerrilla movements in Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, and has taught at the Ecole Supérieure de Guerre (Paris), Ecole Nationale d’Administration (Paris), as well as Harvard University, the University of California (Berkeley), and elsewhere. His publications are numerous and include three books of poetry.
